Crab Museum

Crab Museum is an award-winning, free-to-enter and completely independent science museum in Margate, Kent. It uses crabs, humour and philosophy to engage children and adults alike with the vast weirdness of life itself. We are committed to doing science communication differently and believe that a liveable future requires imaginative and open-minded thinking. We aim to engage our visitors with a sense of bafflement and wonder- and weaponise laughing about animal bums to inspire current and new generations of scientists. Crab Museum believes that learning about science doesn’t need to be stuffy, inaccessible or boring - it can be fun, unexpected and radically whimsical too. Crabs can teach us about biology, climate change, evolutionary history and much much more. But, with the right frame of mind, they can also teach us about ourselves.
