Yamhill Conservation Trust

Yamhill Conservation Trust is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization formed in 2024 with tax-exempt status approved in 2025. Our focus is to protect ecologically important landscapes within Yamhill County which provide benefits for people, plants and wildlife. We co-own and steward 2,500 acres of these lands with our partner, Yamhill Soil and Water Conservation District, and co-hold 1000 acres of conservation easements also. Yamhill Conservation Trust continues to take on new ownership of lands and easements, building upon a legacy of conservation protection in the county. We also have a goal of connecting our community with conserved properties through outdoor experiences including hikes, workshops and other natural resource based activities. We do this while balancing our primary stewardship goal of protecting conservation values. We believe this makes for a healthy community who is committed to protecting these local habitats and open spaces. Yamhill Conservation Trust partners with other land trusts working in our area, indigenous communities, environmental/educational nonprofits and city, county, state and federal government agencies. We believe that there is strength and number.
