Mountain Wilderness Belgium

Mountain Wilderness Belgium is the Belgian portal of the Mountain Wilderness International movement, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that fights for the 'safeguarding of the mountain, in all its aspects'. As a result, Mountain Wilderness (MW) Belgium generally adheres to Biella's thesis and objectives, which founded the international movement in 1987. Although Belgium does not have a mountains, it does have a wealth of natural areas. We are convinced that man's relationship with such areas also plays a vital role in our balance, and we therefore support the thoughtful management of the country's nature reserves, rivers, crags and forests. The main objective of MW Belgium is to be a vector of awareness of the commitments of MW International. MW Belgium therefore intends first of all to relay information to its mountaineers, climbers, hikers, speleologists etc. MW Belgium wants to be above all educational and challenging, rather than blindly demonstrative. On the one hand, we carry out continuous information actions and, on the other hand, some more specific actions.
