Association of National Park Rangers
The Association of National Park Rangers (ANPR) advocates and provides training for those interested in or working for the National Park Service (NPS). We look out for the rights and well-being of park rangers. Our organization was founded in 1977 when a group of rangers got together for the first annual “ranger rendezvous.” Since then, ANPR has provided opportunities for professional development and camaraderie for NPS employees. ANPR has over 600 members who are current NPS employees and retirees from all over the United States. Our members are dedicated and passionate, and many of our founders remain active today. ANPR is also a founding member of the International Ranger Federation, a group of over 100 ranger associations from 60 countries. As much as possible, we support the work of the international ranger community. We stand in solidarity with African and Asian rangers, who face the dangerous task of defending wildlife from poachers.
