The Accountability Board

The Accountability Board (TAB) is a new, globally-focused organization founded by Josh Balk and Matt Prescott, who previously led the Humane Society of the United States’ farm animal protection division and corporate advocacy campaigns, respectively. TAB uses in-depth and high-pressure shareholder campaigning focused on the world’s largest food companies. The organization files shareholder resolutions and plans to utilize board of director-focused campaigns, shareholder-to-shareholder outreach to the largest investors (like BlackRock, State Street, Vanguard), engagement with sell side analysts, books and records requests of companies, SEC and FTC complaints, and more. Related to our work focused on animals: There are 9 billion farm animals in the U.S. and 80 billion globally. There are 320 million egg-laying chickens in the U.S. and 7 billion globally. There are 6 million mother pigs in the U.S. and 45 million in China alone. There is still work to do in the U.S., of course.
