Woodstock Land Conservancy

The Woodstock Land Conservancy (WLC) is committed to the permanent protection and preservation of open lands, water, natural resources, scenic areas, and historic sites in Woodstock and the surrounding eastern Catskills. Our community is brought together by the places we love – the mountains, the forests, the fields, the wetlands, and the streams. They keep our air and water clean; provide a home to wildlife; support our economy through farming, logging, and tourism; provide us with recreation; improve our health; and bring joy and beauty to our lives. Their conservation is the core of what we do. Founded in 1988 by a dedicated group of local citizens, WLC is a non-profit organization with a small staff and an all-volunteer board of directors. At its core, WLC is an ever-growing community of dedicated and generous volunteers, supporters, and community members who share a passionate love and respect for the land and the unique place we live. Together we pursue land conservation goals as well as initiatives to create trails, protect water resources, adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change, support sustainability, and promote appropriate land use in the communities we serv.
