Sadhana Forest

Sadhana Forest (started in 2003) is an international, volunteer-based organization focused on creating long-term food security through environmental restoration. Globally, there are 133 million malnourished people living in arid areas who have private land but are not using it to grow food due to lack of water and agricultural knowledge. Sadhana Forest works in eight projects across India, Haiti, Kenya, and Namibia, training local communities in water-saving irrigation techniques and providing free seedlings. Together, we plant drought-resistant, indigenous, food-bearing trees around local people's homes. Sadhana Forest has won multiple awards, the last of which is the Earth Guardian Award in Mumbai in 2025. Every year the organization's India, Haiti, Kenya, and Namibia centers host and train a total of over 2,500 volunteers, students, and interns from around 50 countries.
