The primary and only exempt purpose of Restore Badin Lake RBL is to Clean Restore and Preserve Badin Lake a 5300-acre freshwater lake created by the damming of the Yadkin River in the central Piedmont area of North Carolina During the past several years there has been an increased intrusion of Lyngbya or black algae not only in Badin Lake but in many other lakes in the southern United States Black algae adversely affects the quality of the water reduces recreational activities is foul smelling and impacts the ecosystem of plants and fish and destroys the natural beauty of freshwater lakes.
