NC Sustainable Energy Association

The North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association (NCSEA) is​ a 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership organization of individuals, businesses, governments, nonprofits and others interested in North Carolina's sustainable energy future. Since 1978, NCSEA has been the driving organizational force for the state’s clean energy economy. Our founding members formed NCSEA in response to the oil crisis of the 1970s. In the decades that followed, their collective research and dedication to energy efficiency and solar energy laid the groundwork for transformative, bipartisan progress on the policy front in the early 2000s. NCSEA works with its members and partners to transform our state and region's energy system through market innovation and policy advocacy primarily in ten clean energy technology sectors: alternative fuel vehicles (primarily electric vehicles), biogas, energy efficiency, energy storage, geothermal, hydropower/marine, smart grid, solar, and wind. In the past decade especially, North Carolina’s clean energy economy has experienced tremendous growth.
