The John Muir Project, a project of Earth Island Institute, is dedicated to protecting public forestlands from commercial logging and other exploitation, and expanding protected public forestlands, to protect native biodiversity, mitigate the climate crisis by safeguarding our most vital carbon sinks, and increasing access to Nature for local communities. JMP pursues this goal through public education, original scientific research, and upholding federal environmental laws in court.
