Aquarium of the Pacific

The fourth most-visited aquarium in the nation and one of the most-attended cultural destinations in Los Angeles County, the Aquarium of the Pacific serves 1.7 million visitors each year. Beyond our world-class animal exhibits, including 12,000 animals in 100 exhibits, the Aquarium offers educational programs for people of all ages; innovative multimedia experiences such as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Science on a Sphere®; opportunities to touch, feed, and interact with animals; and involvement in numerous conservation efforts. Through a combination of vibrant exhibits, innovative education programs, cultural outreach, cutting-edge technology and conservation initiatives, the Aquarium is committed to providing the highest quality ocean science and environmental education to the diverse population of Southern California. With the opening of the new Pacific Visions wing in May 2019, the Aquarium’s campus and capacity has recently increased. Through advanced technology, live animals, and arts installations, the three new galleries and large immersive theater are filled with captivating stories about our local and global environments, the challenges we face.
