Clean Climber Netherlands

In 2018 the founder, Gerard van Laar, wanted to do something back to the sport that gave him so much. It started off with a cleanup event in Ettringen, where trash was removed with 30 volunteers from the climbing area. It was followed by more cleanup events, as well as a re-use program for climbing gear, a climbing shoe recycling program and by the end of 2020 a climbing industry meetup. All of these programs serve the goal to bring the climbing sport in balance with nature, to which we owe our sport. The Clean Climber Foundation was officially launched in April 2019 and is based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
