A healthy and robust urban forest is of vital importance to New York city. The mission of Trees New York, INC. Is to plant, preserve, and protect New York city's urban forest through education and community participation. Trees New York engages New yorkers of all ages and backgrounds to care for and expand our vital urban forest in impactful and notable ways. Trees New York has almost 50 years of experience in community tree planting, stewardship, and education projects. Since its founding, Trees New York has trained over 12,500 citizen pruners and 8,000 youth in tree care and stewardship programs. Since 2005, Trees New York has planted over 5,000 Trees in underserved communities throughout New York city.
