Ridge to Reefs

At Ridge to Reefs, we are dedicated to catalyzing sustainable solutions that foster the well-being of both communities and the environment. Through collaborative efforts with local partners and community members, we tackle environmental and social challenges head-on, striving to create lasting impacts where human and natural systems coexist harmoniously. Our commitment to equity is unwavering, as we prioritize diversity, inclusion, and justice in all facets of our work. We take pride in our recent accomplishments, such as pioneering nature-based wastewater treatment systems in Hawai'i, Palau, Costa Rica, Chesapeake Bay and Puerto Rico and spearheading ecological restoration projects from Mauka to Makai as well as efforts working on the ground with farmers supporting methods to increase soil health, food security through making biofertilizers from local waste streams, cover crops and agroforestry practices -- strengthening carbon sequestration and food security. This is vital especially on islands where we work, where generally over 85% of food is imported, contributing to fossil fuel use and economic vulnerability. These initiatives not only address pressing environmental issues bu.
