Polar Citizen Science Collective
The polar regions are hard to reach locations and are greatly lacking in data compared to other regions. The reasons are many - challenging weather, short seasons of accessibility, expensive to reach, and challenging logistics for gear. The Polar Collective strives to increase and improve protects of these areas and the only way to do that is with data. A very under utilized resource are travelers to these regions. Vessels often stay a whole season and visit locations multiple times that a research vessel may only visit once a year. They are incredible platforms of opportunity for scientists to obtain data. Meanwhile if the guests participate in and learn about data collecting in these special areas, they can go home and share their experiences to family and friends and even beyond, creating advocates and ambassadors. Our goal is to fill the niche between scientists and guides and passengers to facilitate the best science and data with the best experience for guests, a win-win for all.
